QuoteChecker.ai 2.0 — May 2026

Version 2.0 is our biggest release yet. This update refreshes every audit with new benchmark data, adds new ways to share and act on your results, launches a creator referral program, and ships a public wall of the worst quotes we've seen. Details below.

Fresher, deeper benchmark data

• Three verticals refreshed for 2025–2026. Rebuilt the benchmark data across contractor (66 categories), auto repair (118 categories), and solar (90 categories). New coverage includes cabinet refacing, whole-house repaints, mini-splits, tankless water heaters, and EV chargers.
• EV repairs covered properly. Electric vehicles now get their own price references for high-voltage coolant service, charge port replacement, EV-rated tires, regen brake calibration, and 12V aux battery swaps. Gas-car maintenance items that don't apply to EVs are skipped.
• ADAS recalibration flagged separately. Windshield replacement and ADAS-heavy repairs are called out on their own line so you can see what the shop is charging for sensors versus glass.
• Solar dealer-fee transparency. Explicit dealer fee caps per metro, so you can see whether your solar quote is burying a large loan-origination markup in the per-watt price.

Share and export your audit

• Shareable read-only reports. Pro users can generate a private, password-free share link (/shared/…) to send an audit to a spouse or second opinion without sharing account access. The link token is a 256-bit secret, so guessing one isn't practical.
• Copy Report and PDF download. Every audit can be exported as clean plain text to paste into email, or as a printable PDF to attach to a reply. Works on both free and Pro audits.

Refer a friend (Pro)

• Peer-to-peer referrals. Pro users can generate a personal referral link in /pro/settings. Share it with a friend; they get 50% off their first month. After they pass the 14-day refund window, your next billing month is free.
• Share from any audit. Free and Pro audit results now include a "Share these results" button that opens your phone's native share sheet or copies a plain link on desktop.

Creator program

• Earn by referring. Creators covering home services, DIY, auto, or solar can apply to the partner program and earn on every Pro subscription they drive.
• 75% off first payment for viewers. Anyone arriving via a creator's referral link gets 75% off their first month of Pro automatically. No promo code required.
• Plain-language terms. A dedicated creator terms page covers payouts, disclosures, and compliance (FTC endorsement rules, Stripe Connect payouts, quarterly payment schedule).

Policies and transparency

• Updated Privacy Policy and Terms. Both rewritten in plain language for the 2026 product. A new CCPA / CPRA section explains what California residents can request, how, and how fast.
• Accessibility Statement. We target WCAG 2.1 AA and publish our current gaps openly at /accessibility.
• Status page. Live at /status. Shows whether sign-in, payments, AI analysis, email, and the database are operational.
• Contact page. A real /contact page with topic routing (Bug, Billing, Privacy, Creator, Press). Your email is pre-filled if you're signed in.
• Essential-cookies disclosure. A small first-visit banner explains what we store (just what's needed for sign-in and form security). No tracking cookies. No consent wall.

• Progressive Web App. QuoteChecker is now installable on iOS, Android, and desktop. Open it in your browser, tap "Add to Home Screen," and you get an app icon, a standalone window, and shortcuts to jump straight into a contractor, auto, or solar audit. No app store, no download.

Talk to us without leaving the product

• In-app feedback (Pro). A small feedback button sits in the corner of every Pro page. Click it, pick a sentiment, tell us what's working or what isn't. Messages arrive with context about which page you were on, and every one is read by a human.
